Now its winter!! 2017 is soon going to end and this is very important year for me, where I learn several things. I don’t want to stop here itself, I thought that my knowledge will help others to bloom one day. I spoke with several QA contributors and analyzed the problem they are facing at the beginning. I shared blogs, resources and also had 1 – 1 chat to make them understand and work for a bug. But they felt quite difficult to pick up at initial stage. Few contributors felt tough to understand how to use Etherpad, downloading build, account creation, etc. So I want to help by teaching it from scratch.
Therefore I involved myself on organizing an online call to show demo on QA related works, to encourage new contributors and other community member to make them self actively involving in upcoming QA days. By that time, Mozilla QA announced Firefox Developer Edition 58 Beta 8 Test days and they extended it for 6 more days. This is a right time and contributors can slowly learn, participate and can do quality works.
On 23rd December 2017 (Saturday) at 8.30PM, a live hangout call was started with 7 contributors. The session had the following follow,
- Introduction and How to use Etherpad?
- How to download builds?
- Demo on various test cases
- How to report issues, if undergone in any test case?
- Demo on Bug triage and Bug verification
- Queries
We all 7 had a great time sharing each other views on QA. In case you missed the call, you can watch the video in YouTube. The result of this test day can be seen in this Etherpad.
Happy Contribution!!
Happy 2018!!!!!
